Valérie Larbaud is an outstanding French writer of the early 20th century, his works are included in the compulsory school curriculum, scientific monographs are written about him and his archival materials and diaries are published. During his creative life, which lasted about 35 years, Larbo accomplished a lot as an author and even more as a translator and writer, who helped a number of other writers. He himself wrote only on a whim, which did not stop Gaston Gallimard, Andre Gide and Marcel Proust from admiring his texts.
