Mai Jia is a pseudonym. “Decryption” is the debut work of a former employee of the Chinese intelligence services. Chinese intelligence services in the mid-50s are faced with an extremely complex enemy code. So complex that none of their cryptographers could decipher it. Mission after mission fails. People are dying. And all because the intercepted telegrams cannot be decoded. Then agents are sent to all corners of the country in search of young people who are exceptionally gifted in the field of mathematics. So, at Ning Zhou University they finally find someone who is able to decipher the code. This is a young man, Rong Jinzhen, who has only three favorite things to do in his life: counting ants, eating dumplings and solving math problems. Now he is recruited into the Chinese Secret Service's Cryptography Division, Unit 701, where he is tasked with cracking the elusive "Code Purple". What will come of all this? And who really is that mysterious puppeteer - the creator of the code?
