“The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” is one of the famous fairy tales written by Hoffmann. The plot of the tale was born in his communication with the children of his friend Hitzig. He was always a welcome guest in this family, and the children waited for his delightful gifts, fairy tales, and toys that he made with his own hands. Like the craftsman-godfather Drosselmeyer, Hoffmann made a skillful model of the castle for his little friends. He captured the names of the children in The Nutcracker. Marie Stahlbaum, a gentle girl with a brave and loving heart who managed to return the Nutcracker to his true appearance, is the namesake of Hitzig’s short-lived daughter. But her brother Fritz, the valiant commander of the toy soldiers in the fairy tale, grew up, became an architect, and then even took the post of president of the Berlin Academy of Arts...
