Hurricane Time is a novel by Mexican writer Fernanda Melchor, which was shortlisted for the international Man Booker Prize. Scary but surprisingly real, this novel begins with a murder. A witch in a small Mexican village has long been known only by that name, and when a gang of local boys discovers her body rotting at the bottom of a canal, it stirs up the already restless population. Through several stories of different residents, one way or another connected with the murder of the Witch, the reader will plunge into the very abyss of this town saturated with cruelty, violence and pain. Fernanda Melchor has created a real poetic masterpiece, which is impossible to read without trepidation. The book contains obscene language.
