The solar system is our galactic home. She will remain so until humanity reaches the stars. But do we know our home? Its size, address, origin, future prospects and “where is everything”? It seems that we don’t know our house enough. Otherwise, the discoveries made in recent years would not excite the minds, discoveries that are sometimes surprising and, moreover, hinting at what a breakthrough of new knowledge we should gain in the future. Already in our time, every new book about the solar system becomes outdated after a few years. Telescopes and interplanetary probes bring a lot of information. Quite often, astronomical research and even experiments radically change the old ideas about that nook of the Galaxy where we have the pleasure of living. The purpose of this book is to give the reader a modern idea of the Solar System as part of the Galaxy.
