Peter Fleming's book is an attempt at a serious and objective study of the events that took place in Siberia after the revolution. Having accepted the cross of power, Admiral Kolchak became the Supreme Ruler of Russia in the extremely difficult conditions of the Civil War and the complete decline of the state system. Kolchak was treacherously handed over to the Bolsheviks by the allied command by order of the French general Janin. According to the verdict of the revolutionary court in February 1920, the admiral was shot.
