This is not the first time in its history that society has faced a special type of crisis (demographic, environmental, military-political) that is caused by unbalanced human activity. There were also global ones among them. How are all these crises that occurred at various historical stages similar to each other? Why do they repeat periodically and what role do they play in the development of society and nature? Are there common mechanisms for the exacerbation of anthropogenic crises, and what symptoms can be used to predict their approach? Finally, what are the chances of planetary civilization to overcome the impending complex crisis, what price will have to be paid for this, and what may be the long-term consequences? The author explores these questions, drawing on data from historical psychology, cultural and comparative anthropology, evolutionary biology and cosmology, as well as generalizing models of self-organization .The book is addressed to researchers in various specialties, university teachers, graduate students and students. Its material can be used in the development of interdisciplinary courses in Universal History (Big History) for humanities, natural sciences and technical faculties.
