Klaus Mann (1906–1949) is the eldest son of Thomas Mann, a famous German writer, author of seven novels, several volumes of short stories, essays, articles and travel sketches. “At the Turning” is the crown of his work, an artistic mosaic that organically combines memories, diaries and letters. This is not only an autobiography, an account of his life, it is the history of Thomas Mann’s family, a whole portrait gallery of outstanding European and American writers, artists, artists, political figures. The tragic circumstances of his personal life, persecution from the reactionary circles of Germany and the USA led the anti-fascist writer to fatal ending - he committed suicide.
