Meteorites brought deadly viruses to Earth, and almost all adults died, and those who did not die were reborn into bloodthirsty mutants. Small children, those under 10 years old, also died or turned into furry, evil mutants. Only teenagers 10–15 years old survived and retained their sanity. They had to create a new world and a new civilization. The action of the dystopian novel develops in Saratov and around it. 15-year-old Andrei Komarov, a recent schoolchild and a candidate for master of sports in boxing, became the head of one of the communities of teenagers. He realized in time that it was necessary to stock up on weapons, and this helped the community withstand the pressure of teenage gangs seeking to build a slave society, and successfully repel the attacks of insane mutants who fed on the blood and flesh of animals and people.
