Revised electronic edition of the book: added table of contents to bookmarks.
First published in 1679, this book is a true masterpiece of traditional astrology, practiced in England during the Renaissance. The book contains a clearly formulated list of basic rules of astrology and a clear algorithm for considering horary questions on the topics of different houses, provided with examples. The author also provides an extensive list of rules for elections. The book was written after the publication of Christian Astrology by William Lilly, to whom the author sometimes refers, and differs favorably from it in the absence of verbosity, confusion and polemical pathos. In a sense, Practical Astrology is Lilly's astrology, but "plain and simple." This is exactly how Middleton’s book was assessed by the author’s prominent colleagues, who gave the text rave reviews.
