Yuri Shevtsov's book examines a complex and dangerous history, from the 30s of the twentieth century to the present day. There is a real mass famine of the early 30s, part of the terrible history of Stalin’s dispossession - that is, the de-peasantization of Soviet Russia. And there is a (Nazi, in essence) myth about the Holodomor, allegedly staged by “Muscovites” for the sake of exterminating Ukrainians.
