During World War II, American soldiers were shocked to find New Testaments in the possession of thousands of German prisoners of war. Did Christians serve Hitler?! The Seduction of Eva Volk explores for the first time the reality of this paradox from a German perspective, in a way that no other novel about the Church in Hitler's Germany has done. In the eyes of young Eva, the irresistible appeal of Nazism is personified in her lover. A desperate search for inner integrity in the destroyed world around her quickly captivates her with the passions of love and war, until the girl comes face to face with the consequences of spiritual blindness. The story of Eva Volk, full of drama and deep emotions, is a warning to each of us about the doom of life outside of God's Truth. David Baker is a descendant of the first colonists who moved to Pennsylvania at the beginning of the 18th century from Germany and Scotland, the father of two sons, the founder of a successful company , which he later sold in order to devote himself entirely to writing. Having traveled all over Europe over the past fifteen years and collecting material for his books, David traveled along the route of the tragic children's crusade described in the “Journeys of the Soul” trilogy. During his research, he met and talked with many people, including Manfred Rommel (the son of a German field marshal) and Johan Voss, who served in the Waffen-SS and later wrote memoirs about the war. Many of the stories of these two people formed the basis of the book “The Seduction of Eva Volk.”
