One of the supposed sources of the novel of the same name by Ivan Efremov. Dedicated to the study of extreme human capabilities, spiritual and physical, as well as an attempt to predict the likely path of development of earthly humanity as a whole. The hero of the novel travels through space and time and finds himself in a society of the future, organized on impeccable rational principles. Meeting human beings of a higher order arouses his admiration, but in the end it seriously disappoints and leads to tragedy in life and love.
