The book “The Silence Effect” is a direct continuation of the book “The Cold Road to Old Age”. At the center of the story is the figure of the head of the media, he became a journalist who did not lose the ideals of “freedom of speech” from his promotion. Having taken the place of editor-in-chief, he fully realized the complexity of this position. The media that he led was financed by the administration of a small oil town, and this forced him to look for compromises and solutions that strengthened independence... On the other hand, he got to manage a team of journalists who did not need “freedom of speech”, but needed money and easy life... The book “The Silence Effect” was awarded the “Golden Shelf of Russian Journalism” diploma in February 2014 by the Union of Journalists of Russia.
