This is a family story - a look into the past, about a grandfather whom I never saw, but learned about him from the stories of my relatives. The life of a family is shown in the context of the life of the country in the 20-30s of the 20th century in the Urals during collectivization, industrialization and the Great Patriotic War. On October 30, now every year, people gather at the Memorial to the Victims of Political Repression in Yekaterinburg, where 20,000 people were shot during Stalin’s repressions, to pay their debt to the memory of often innocently executed, later rehabilitated people. This family story is about one of them and his relatives.
