The book contains stories from different years, partially published in abridged form in the magazines “Nature and Hunting”, “Young Naturalist”, in the almanac “Hunting Spaces” and “Russian (Moscow) Okhotnichya Gazeta”. The first part, “The Smell of Rain” "are stories for an adult reader, connected by common characters and place - the Volga village of Kadnitsy, in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Funny and sad stories take place against the backdrop of the main hobbies in the life of the lyrical heroes - hunting and fishing. Several essays for young readers make up the second part of the book. The book is intended for a wide range of readers, primarily hunters, fishermen and nature lovers.
