Frank Slaughter's historical novel takes us to the times of late Rome - the first third of the 4th century. Flavius Valery Constantine ascends the throne, concentrating sole and absolute imperial power in his hands. Through battles and blood, the death of loved ones, he walked towards his goal, trying to revive the former greatness and power of the Roman Empire. In a fascinating, exciting description of the life of this man, the founder of New Rome - Constantinople, the author unfolds before us a broad historical canvas, in which many pages are devoted to the creation of the Church and the first Christians, who were powerfully supported by the emperor who believed in God. And it is not for nothing that church historians named Constantine the Great and proclaimed him a model of a Christian ruler. Frank Gill Slaughter was born in Washington on February 25, 1908. He graduated from Oxford Graduate School in North Carolina and Durham University. Doctor. He served in the US Army in the medical corps. Married Jane Mundy in 1933. Two sons.
