The book includes the memoirs of Grigory Mikhailovich Semenov (1890–1946), one of the most striking and controversial figures of the White movement; Cossack chieftain, who had undeniable authority and always maintained independence in all decisions. In his work, restoring past events, the author objectively, without being carried away by personal sympathies or antipathies, tried to bring clarity and the necessary adjustments to previously published historical materials about the course of the revolution in Siberia. Many of his conclusions, thoughts and statements now look truly prophetic in the eyes of his contemporaries.
