Three novels - “Diana”, “Minerva” and “Venus” are dedicated to three successively changing hobbies of the main character - political struggle, art and sensual love. The trilogy of the famous German writer Heinrich Mann (1871-1950) was published in the author’s homeland in 1903, and soon translated into Russian. Since then it has not been republished in our country, while other works of the writer have been repeatedly published in millions of copies. The previous censorship could not be satisfied with the heroine’s ascent from politics to love, and not in the reverse order. Meanwhile, a brilliantly written book will still find an excited reader today.
