The book contains memories of the chief designer of the tank design bureau in Nizhny Tagil, V.N. Venediktov - author of the essay and compiler of the collection E.B. Babylonsky, as well as forty contemporaries of the chief designer. These are Venediktov’s closest associates from work at UKBTM, managers of Uralvagonzavod, designers, researchers, testers of armored vehicles, party and trade union workers, participants in amateur artistic performances of UKBTM, people who worked with him for many years and lived nearby, and those who knew the main one designer for individual meetings. All this expands the idea of V.N. Venediktov, reveals his personality, character, inclinations, interests, habits, allows us to better understand the origins of the chief designer’s determination, the motives of his actions, helps to find an explanation for his successes in scientific and engineering activities. The book is intended for readers interested in the history of tank building.
