During his lifetime, Carl Friedrich Gauss received the title of King of Mathematicians. The personality of this scientist can be compared with the personality of his other brilliant contemporary and compatriot - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Both were child prodigies who were patronized and helped to get an education by government officials. But unlike the composer, Gauss was lucky to live a long and quiet life.
