Boris Borisovich Rokhlin was born on January 22, 1942 in the Bashkir village of Karaidel. On this day, his father died at the front. Returning with his mother from evacuation, he spent most of his life in Leningrad and graduated from the Swedish department of the Faculty of Philology of Leningrad State University. In recent years he has lived in Berlin. His prose and essays were published in Leningrad samizdat: the magazines Obvodny Kanal, Chasy, etc., as well as in Grani, Literary European, and Zvezda. Boris Rokhlin is the author of the book “Perverted Stories” (St. Petersburg, 1995).
