Notes from Nancy Drew is a series of books intended for young readers. Here, 8-year-old Nancy and her friends are in third grade. The books are illustrated with rare black and white drawings. The "Notebooks" in the series title is a reference to the "blue notebook in which Nancy takes notes on mysteries and writes down what she learns." The stories end with a conclusion where readers are told what Nancy has learned. Series ended with book 69 in December 2005 and was revived as Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew. Nancy's best friends Bess and Georgie had a fight over Bess's pendant missing from Georgie's backpack. Nancy begins the search for the thief, trying not only to return the pendant, but also to restore their friendship.
