Pliny the Elder spoke about the friendship between man and dolphin in the 1st century BC. e., and Plutarch (45-127 AD) wrote that “the first mortal to make friends with dolphins was Telemachus, the son of Odysseus.” Since those very distant times, people’s interest in the friendly and intelligent animal has not faded away. There are now hundreds of oceanariums, dolphinariums, aquariums and water parks in the world where dolphins and other marine mammals are shown.
