Kenneth White is a poet, writer, and independent thinker. Born in Glasgow in 1936. Since the mid-60s he has lived and worked in France. Founder of the Institute of Geopoetics. Author of philosophical books “Une apocalypse tranquille” (“The Quiet Apocalypse”, 1985), “L'esprit nomade” (“The Spirit of Nomadism”, 1989), “Le plateau de l' albatros: introduction a la geopoetique” (“Albatross Rock: introduction to geopoetics”, 1994), “Une strategie paradoxale: essais de resistance culturelle” (“Paradoxical strategy: the experience of cultural resistance”, 1998). With the exception of a few interviews, it has not been translated into Russian. The small book “Wild Swans”, written in the genre of a poetic travel diary, is the writer’s first work published in Russian.
