Who are they, these mysterious inhabitants of Happy Arabia? A nomadic bandit tribe or zealous followers of the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad? They are called Saracens. This concept unites many nationalities that at different times existed in the space from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. It is difficult to say how many generations of these original children of the desert lived in pristine wildness, in a land of solid sand and stone, developing petty trade in the meantime to the level of decent commerce, until the whole world learned about them.
