Having survived an attack by warlike natives and a terrible storm, Louis, by chance, finds himself on a deserted island near Australia, desperately hoping that the surviving members of the schooner's crew will soon come to his aid...Louis de Rougemont is the pseudonym of the Swiss Henry Louis Green (1847–1921), the author of a series of published in the British "The Wide World Magazine" of essays, later published as a novel. The book was presented as a genuine autobiography.
