The book is dedicated to a representative of the ancient noble family of Vorontsov. It traces the military and diplomatic activities of Count S.R. Vorontsov, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of Russian-English relations at the end of the 18th - first quarter of the 19th centuries. For S.R. Vorontsov's honor and good name were more valuable than life, more valuable than all material wealth. He passed on these principles to his son, Field Marshal General, His Serene Highness Prince M.S. Vorontsov. Based on previously unpublished archival materials, the book provides interesting and little-covered facts from the history of Russian-British political, economic and cultural relations.
