Great people are born from great eras. The hero of this book, V. I. Muravlenko, belongs to the glorious cohort of outstanding organizers and creators of the Soviet era. It is difficult to overestimate the contribution he made to the development of the natural resources of Western Siberia - its oil and gas fields, to the transformation of this harsh region. It is no coincidence that the largest specialists in the oil and gas industry believe that even today, thirty years after the death of V. I. Muravlenko, the country is mainly provided with reserves and capacities created during the period of operation of Glavtyumenneftegaz and its legendary leader. The city and the field are named after him Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, institute and streets in Tyumen and Zhigulevsk, public fund, the top of one of the mountain ranges of Eastern Siberia, a floating drilling rig. This is a tribute to the followers and descendants of a man who gave his whole life to serving his people.
