The new book by the outstanding Russian film director Andrei Konchalovsky, “The Sublime Deception,” follows the first, “The Low Truths,” talks about the author’s life in Russia, Europe, America, about the stars of the screen and stage with whom his fate brought him together, about the women whom loved, about the birth of films and performances, which more than once caused fierce polemics, about the creative cuisine of the director, the living circumstances of the creation of his famous productions, the vicissitudes of their audience and festival destinies. As before, the author is nakedly frank, speaking about dramatic circumstances and his creative and personal life, which, however, are inseparable - they have the same passion, the same spiritual guidelines, the same line of fate.
