A novel by Bertrand Blier, a popular French writer and screenwriter, which reflected the rebellious sentiments of youth in the second half of the 1960s. The deliberately coarse vocabulary and naturalism in the depiction of sexual relationships are dictated by the desire to “frappe” the reader and, as it were, turn the characters in the novel inside out. The author introduces the reader into an unexpected, sometimes crazy world, from which he will escape relieved, but certainly enriched. Based on Blier’s novel, the acclaimed film “Waltzers” (“Valseuses”) was shot, in which J. Depardieu, Miu-Miu, P. Dever, I. Huppert.
