The book includes previously unpublished Notes of Boris Nikolaevich Abramov from 1970, published under the title “Facets of Agni Yoga”. Boris Nikolaevich Abramov (1897 - 1972), who lived for many years (1917 - 1959) abroad, in Harbin, was the closest student of Nicholas Roerich. Source of Records and Books of the Teaching of Living Ethics (Agni Yoga) – One. This was confirmed by Elena Ivanovna Roerich, who became acquainted with the first Records in the 40s. Later, Boris Nikolaevich also perceived the messages of Nikolai Konstantinovich and Helena Ivanovna Roerich: in the book they are marked with the words “Guru” and “M.A.Y.” (Mother of Agni Yoga) at the beginning of the relevant paragraphs.

When preparing the Notes for publication, the features of their style were preserved.

The book will be useful to readers in search of answers to questions about the purpose of a person and his responsibility before the Universe.

"...The usefulness of obstacles can be understood even more broadly and one can see that every spark of life embodied in matter breaks through it and wins more and more freedom of manifestation, mastering the features of the environment in which it is found. And plants, and birds, and fish, and animals - all in the process of long evolution not so much adapt to this environment as overcome its resistance and master it to one degree or another. The thinker who emphasized this principle of overcoming was right. It manifests itself especially clearly in the life of a person in general, and in Our disciples in particular. Each new stage is an overcoming of the imperfections of the previous stages and the mastery of new abilities, or qualities of the spirit, or fire, which is expressed in these qualities and abilities. And all this is accomplished with stubborn resistance from the environment and conscious confrontation on the part of the dark ones, who do not abandon those striving until the complete victory of the spirit over darkness. And this is a particular difficulty, because maintaining aspiration is possible only with unbreakable fortitude. And there is nowhere to wait for help. You must walk the path with your own feet, no one will walk it for the student."
