A holiday romance unexpectedly develops into a real feeling between two mature people, who from then on will never be able to part. Brian Friel voices the thoughts of Chekhov's heroes, which helps the viewer penetrate deeper into the inner world of their relationship. Chekhov's vaudeville "The Bear", where a widow and a landowner declare their love with guns in their hands. "After the Curtain" - an original author's work by Brian Friel - a possible meeting of Sonya Serebryakova (“Uncle Vanya”) and Andrei Prozorov (“Three Sisters”) in a shabby station buffet, in Soviet Moscow of the 20s. 20 years have passed since the end of the events of Chekhov's famous plays, and the viewer not only learns about everything that happened to their heroes during this period, but also witnesses the emergence of new relationships. Neither the lost hopes and illusions of life, nor the changed social order, nor the age of the heroes prevent them from being open to new experiences and twists of fate.
