The world of Jennak, the crown prince of Odissar, is in many ways similar to the earthly one, but civilization in it arose not on the shores of the Mediterranean, but in Eiponne, on the continents of the two Americas. Great cities were built there and roads were laid between them, steel blades were forged there and ships were launched there, merciful gods were worshiped there, and these gods made Jennak their chosen one, giving him an unusually long life. But at its dawn, Dzhennak is subjected to severe trials, for, as the priests believe, only those who have tasted suffering in their youth can become a wise ruler. Obeying fate, Jennak loses his beloved, fights with wild tribes, and confronts betrayal; finally, he goes east to the lands of Europe and Africa to become the Columbus of his world.
