The exhibition “Illustrations by M. Shemyakin for the songs of V. Vysotsky” is the result of many years of work by Mikhail Shemyakin, in his words, “a kind of artistic and graphic monument to Vladimir Vysotsky and his work.” The artist created 42 sheets according to the number of years lived by the poet, as well as “ double portrait" of the artist and poet. The exhibition is timed to coincide with the publication of Mikhail Shemyakin’s book “Two Fates”, which combines the lyrics of Vladimir Vysotsky’s songs, illustrations for them and the artist’s memories of his friendship with the poet. Shemyakin divided the illustrations for Vladimir Vysotsky’s songs into topics: “Fate”, “Alcohol” , “Wolf Hunt”, “Mental Hospital”, “Flowers of Evil”, “Civil War”, “Great Patriotic War”, “Russia”.
