The worldview of man in the ancient world consisted in the perception of life as a single sequence of all ongoing processes. With each new period of life, the ancient Greek ascended to spiritual sanctification, undergoing a religious ceremonial ritual of passage - initiation. In the process of initiation, the previous psychological perception of the initiate was eliminated, with the refraction and withering away of his previous status, and a new personal and social perception of the person was formed. Religious and cult rituals were stamped with the divine seal of the grace of the gods, which accompanied the ancient Greeks in their divine conduct. Religion reflects a person’s value attitude towards collective life, his social experience and spiritual mentality. Therefore, the study of polis religion ultimately refers to the study of the state and standard of living of Greek civilization during the 8th - 4th centuries. BC.
