Essays on the musicians who made the British Folk Renaissance famous. They had no problem choosing an instrument to express themselves: since they all came from skiffle and rock and roll, they had guitars in their hands! But in order to play music that was incomparably more complex and serious, they had to learn a lot and, in particular, they had to master a special technique and adapt the guitar to the desired sound. It was a time of bold exploration, apprenticeship, uncompromising borrowing, complete and passionate immersion in music, history and even geography.
