The collection “To Music” by Irakli Andronikov (1908–1990), writer, scientist, artist, consists of essays written by the author from approximately 1956 to 1975. Among the heroes of the book are names who devoted themselves to music by inspiration, talent and image thoughts. Fyodor Chaliapin, Nadezhda Obukhova, Ivan Sollertinsky, Svyatoslav Richter, Evgeny Mravinsky, Leonid Kogan, Heinrich Neuhaus, whose “living” portraits are recreated by Irakli Andronikov on the pages of the collection. The author subtly felt and understood music, and carried his love for it throughout his life. One of Irakli Andronikov’s stories ends with the words: “If you love music, then love”... They should become the epigraph to this book.
