This is the first novel in the series of “South Siberian” stories by Sergei Soloukh and the first original attempt in the traditional genre to present a group portrait of his own defiantly unconventional generation, whose youth fell in the golden mid-seventies. To create a kind of epic canvas, the style of which adequately expresses the style of life itself of these “ugly children”, who coldly reject the morality of their “fussy ancestors” and recognize exclusively “high-bummer-high” as the only formula of their existence. Children, funny perhaps, are no longer due only to omniscient fate.
