The main character of the book is Joseph Vladimirovich Trumpeldor (1880-1920), a Russian Jew, a full Knight of St. George, a hero of the Russo-Japanese War, one of the legendary leaders of Zionism and the founders of the ancient State of Israel revived in the 20th century. Born in 1880 in Russia, in Pyatigorsk, he rested in 1920 in the Promised Land. The name of the collection was given by two of his program articles, almost a century later republished in Russian. The book includes the biography of I. Trumpeldor - his complete, systematic and documented biography in Russian, created by the military historian Alexander Shulman (Tel Aviv). The collection is complemented by unique memoirs materials from contemporaries about I.Trumpeldor. These are also the memoirs of D. Belotserkovsky and R. Rubinstein, unknown to the general reader: both published their texts in a book published in Berlin in 1924. Of independent interest is the study of the Exodus - Crimean, a key moment in the life and historical mission of I. Trumpeldor (1919 g.) - in its context, against the background of the atmosphere of Crimea, which was the place of this Exodus. The book reproduces rare photographs and archival documents.
