The Big Book is a trilogy of novels set from the mid-1970s to the present. Most of the events of the first book of the trilogy, “The Imperial Orphan,” take place in the USSR in the 1970s and 1980s, in the then capital of the Kazakh SSR, Alma-Ata. In the first book, the reader will also meet famous historical characters from different times. Among them: Tamerlane, Hafizullah Amin, John Lennon and others. The reasons for their appearance on the pages of the first volume will become clear in further books of the trilogy. “Imperial Orphan” is also an opportunity to look again at the late USSR through the eyes of a child eyewitness from the twenty-first century.
