More than eight and a half centuries have passed since the death of Genghis Khan (Temuchin), the great commander and conqueror, but interest in this bright and outstanding personality not only has not faded, but, on the contrary, continues to grow every year. In 1995, the World Information Center named Genghis Khan the Man of the Millennium. The creator of a unique state formation that united the Far East and Central Asia, he had a huge influence on the development of Eurasian civilization. The conquests of Genghis Khan led to the modernization of world religions, changed the canons of art, forced the West and the East to develop new rules of trade. But can this only explain the increased interest in the legendary conqueror - a personality who combined the qualities of a strategic genius and a skillful leader, unbridled energy and iron grasp, to the great warrior, whose star many centuries ago rose and shone in the endless Mongolian steppes? In search of an answer to this question, the author of this book carefully traced the life history of Genghis Khan from his birth to his last campaign, all stages of the emergence of the great Mongolian empire, analyzed the consequences of its existence for world civilization and put forward his own versions of the reason for the re-creation of the Temujin cult in our days.
