"Cervantes Street" is an artistic reconstruction of the life of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, filled with amazing events, the history of the creation of the great novel about the Knight of the Sorrowful Countenance, as well as the solution to the mystery of the appearance of the fake "Don Quixote"... Young Miguel seriously wounds his opponent during a card quarrel, runs away from Madrid and is hiding from the authorities, traveling with a traveling theater troupe. Later he goes to serve in the army and distinguishes himself in the battle with the Turks near Lepanto, receiving a wound that forever deprived his left arm of movement. The ship that takes him to Spain is captured by pirates, and Miguel is sold into slavery in Algeria. After five years of imprisonment with several failed escape attempts, his family redeems him from captivity and he returns to his homeland.
