Maya seems to be doing well - she has a loving father, an excellent job and a caring boyfriend Ryan, but the longing for her early deceased mother still does not allow her to live in peace. Maya decides to leave her problems for the Arctic, but her anxiety is very severe luggage, and the Arctic does not live up to expectations: instead of the magical northern lights, there is terrible cold and polar night. In an attempt to find balance, Maya gets a job as a cook and begins preparing Indian food according to a recipe from her mother’s cookbook. Then the Arctic ceases to be scary - thanks to warming dishes, Maya finds friends and gains self-confidence. But with each new recipe, she remembers what she once tried very hard to forget...
