Their names were Conan and Valeria - a barbarian and a female pirate. They fled from pursuit, and the road led them to the most ancient mountains in the entire Hyborian world. There, in the cold caves, lived Unknown Creatures who seemed to be older than the heavens themselves. The most dangerous of the Unknowns was the Living Evening, which burned out the soul of a person, leaving the body alive, but weak-willed. A sword made of good Cimmerian steel and miraculous amulets were powerless against this Wind. Mortal danger loomed over Hyboria, and Conan and the Living Wind fought in a merciless battle.
