Originally, "The Last Letter" was supposed to be a chapter in the story. But, in the process of work, I realized that this chapter can exist separately, that it is a separate story in itself. “The Last Letter” is a warning to those who talk about wars based on pictures in movies, or the plots of computer shooters. This is a reminder to people filled with empty bravado and false patriotism. This is an appeal to those fascinated by military romance: Listen! War is scary! In war you have to die. Ugly, painful, truly! “The Last Letter” is a message to those forces who still believe that invading a foreign country is the best way to solve internal political problems. This is an illustration of what the proclamation of crimes against morality turns out to be - the highest valor. The main character of my story has to understand all this. He will write about this to us in his last letter.
