They respond to Organ Man and the Jumpers and eventually, with the help of Johnny Handy, cross the Desert of Death and end up in the Land of Oz. On the way to the Emerald City, travelers meet many of Dorothy's old friends. They arrive just in time for the day birth to Princess Ozma, to which many honored guests from neighboring countries are invited, as well as King Dis and King Howler. At the end of the story, Dorothy and Toto return back to Kansas, and Shaggy is given permission to stay in Oz. * Note: Based on the first edition of the book in 1909. All drawings (except for the drawing on page 203) are black and white, while the pages of the book are painted in different colors. The colors of the pages correspond to the colors of the countries through which Dorothy and her friends - Shaggy, Button, Polychrome and the dog Toto - travel on their way to the Emerald City. The color drawing on page 203 is from a later reprint, where it was used as the cover. Source: Dear friends! I I bring to your attention a collection of fairy tales by the wonderful American children's writer Lyman Frank Baum in Russian. All books are homemade and have never been published in this form. I wanted to convey to you the charm of old books, present them in an authentic, undistorted and unpainted form. It was precisely these fairy tales with stunning, magnificent drawings that American children read 100 years ago. For my works, I used only original illustrations from Baum's first editions of the late 19th - early 20th centuries. All the drawings have been restored, the inscriptions have been Russified, because my books are intended for Russian-speaking readers. Some of them have special wide margins on which illustrations are placed, as was done in the original Baum books. I would like to note that In addition to the classic books about the Land of Oz, other works of the writer that are less known in our country are also distributed here, such as “The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus”, “Queen Zixie of the Land of X”, “Sea Fairies”, “Island in the Sky” and other. There are currently 16 books being given away, 10 of which are about Oz. Unfortunately, due to family circumstances, work on the project has been suspended. Sincerely, pavel_7_8
