Marshal of the Soviet Union Kliment Efremovich Voroshilov left an ambiguous mark on the history of our country. This is undoubtedly a complex, extraordinary and at the same time contradictory personality. Voroshilov is still judged differently: some call him Stalin’s faithful friend, the first red officer, a fighter for strengthening the Red Army, a commander from the people; others - Stalin's "lack", the squire of the formidable "father of nations", the executioner of the Red Army, a mediocre military leader, a cunning opportunist, because under all the rulers of the Soviet Union - Stalin, Khrushchev, Brezhnev - Voroshilov was held in high esteem. The author of the book, writer Nikolai Velikanov, tries to find an explanation the phenomenon of the first Marshal of the Soviet Union.
