In the book of the Norwegian writer S. Bjartveit, the journey of the ancient Greek hero Odysseus is considered as a good reason for philosophical and historical reflections on the nature of man, psychological models of his behavior, the search for higher values, as well as many other topics and problems that are addressed in the great epic. When psychological models are not enough, the author turns to philosophical classics - to the works of Kierkegaard, Nietzsche and MacIntyre. The publisher found it interesting to provide the book with epigraphs from the poem “Recitative” by the Russian poet A. Velichansky, not only because of the coincidence of themes, but also a close understanding of the psychology of the book’s hero.
