Wandering through a snowy wasteland, a bounty hunter accidentally becomes the owner of a page from an old book. He does not yet know that this discovery will bring him together with a group of unpleasant individuals and send him on a long, amazing and very dangerous journey. Deep underground, an ordinary kobold convict is swinging a pickaxe. He meekly pulls his burden, not yet knowing that very soon his fate will change dramatically, and responsibility for the fate of entire nations will fall on his shoulders. On a remote, secluded island, a wizard-investigator is looking for a petty bribe-taker. He is going to quickly arrest him and return home, not yet knowing that behind this insignificant case lies something big and terrible. A night train rushes through the expanses of the great empire of Grandpyre. He stops at a tiny stop, picking up just one passenger - a blind monk, a humble servant of the sun goddess. I am a yatshen. An artificially created creature with a very memorable appearance. People usually scream when they see me, and these are by no means screams of delight. The life of a yatskhen cannot be called easy and pleasant. Of course, six arms are more convenient than two, wings are a wonderful thing, and bulletproof skin has helped me out more than once. But the problems correspond to the opportunities: more than once or twice I found myself on the verge of death, more than once or twice I literally rose from the dead. My life is stormy. I've been to hundreds of different worlds. I saw something that no one else has seen. I visited the gods and fought demons. And in the end I faced an enemy, the most terrible of which has not yet been invented... Contents:
